Stress and stress-response systems contribute to the immune-modulating effects of stress. Stress seems
to have dichotomy effects on immune function, either to be immune enhancing or immunosuppressive.
This complexity of control of stress responses and the immune system is one focus of this Topical Team
has been adressed by the studies CONSCIOUS and MoCISS, respectively. Both proposals have been
set up by the memebrs of this TT and by collaborating scientists of other institutions and were
selected in the course of the INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH ANNOUNCEMENT FOR RESEARCH
IN SPACE LIFE SCIENCES AT THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION ILSRA 2009 by the European Science
Foundation (ESF) and the European Space Agency (ESA).
